Spring fever and Vienna

Unattractive tree in front of my balcony has started to bloom and it has the prettiest flower.
Everything is blooming and getting its colors in the warmth of Spring. Graz seems to get its charms from the sun and verdant trees in the streets and parks in the city. Friends and families enjoy their Sunday out in the Stadtpark, reading, playing guitar, cards, or even slack-lining. People look little bit happier with rosy cheeks, and and they put a slight smile on their faces and walking slower than usual without rushing to anywhere enjoying the weather and the glow of the streetlights. Even my writing has gotten funny and dreamy in this weather.

My classes are going well and class sizes are similar to MC, so it doesn't feel so different. All the classes meet once a week for longer period of time, which makes me feel like I have some time to myself. I bought a bike, but I sold it back. I was very brave and confident to get around with a bike at first, but from the moment I got on the road with my bike I was so afraid and my heart was about to explode, haha. It might be not that scary for most people and it seems so easy, but I didn't get to bring myself to do it again. I know how to ride a bike, but I didn't know how to ride a bike on the road with cars. I acknowledged that I am professional passenger on every level, specially since I don't know how to drive a car.

I am thinking about traveling to Budapest over the Easter break with my friends. I know I should be traveling more, but sometimes it feels better to spend time with friends than to be going around alone.  Traveling alone is fun and adventurous, but sometimes I'd rather cherish the time I spent with friends and the memories.

I just realized that I forgot to mention my travel to Vienna!

It was absolutely gorgeous in Vienna, but the weather wasn't so friendly that weekend. I loved the architecture and the SCHÖNBRUNN palace!!! I just wanted to waltz around the palace and it definitely tickled my inside. I will go back again once its warmer and when the garden opens.

The Trek to Japan

こにちわ and Hello!

My name is Gabbie and welcome to my first blog post ever. Like ever-ever.

I am a Junior at MC studying International Relations and Economics and warmly greet you from the country of Japan. I have been here for a little over two months and have a lot to share whilst abroad. I am studying at Kansai Gaidai University in Hirakata City, Osaka, Japan. Similarly the Maryville to Knoxville's metropolis. This is my first experience in Asia and first extended stay in another country.

My pilgrimage to Japan started with the decision to study Japanese at MC. I wanted to challenge myself with a completely new thing and Japanese language seemed to have become the best fit. After four semesters of rigorous study, I was ready to make the Trans-Pacific trek. Fast-forward 18 hours of travel, immence amounts of culture shock, and jet-lag; I have finally made it to Japan. These months have and will produce memories forever marked in my life and I am excited to share it with all who joins me on my journey.
